Reindex Data Files

Reindexing the Data Files is needed periodically as for example when you add a new piece of information to the system, i.e. a new contact, the information is not added to the middle of the active table. It is added to the END of the table. The system uses INDEXES to determine the order to display, print, or process information causing errors. Occasionally, because of manual changes, network errors, or just bad karma, an index gets our of sync with the data. This function forces Masterpiece to regenerate all its indexes over.

You can re-index as often as you want, weekly, monthly, etc. One clue it is time to re-index is if you are in a find screen and cannot find something you know exists, this means your database is so jumbled it cannot find things and needs to be re-indexed.

Go to Tools --> Data --> Re-Index Data.
