Scan Code Labels

If you would like to print ScanCodes that can be read by a barcode scanner, you will need to install a barcode FONT. See the FONT help topic for information about installing fonts.

Begin with either General Labels if you wish to print ScanCode labels for items not yet entered into Masterpiece, or Specific Labels for items already entered into Masterpiece.

The intent with General Labels is to preprint scancode labels for inventory either not in the system, or not yet received. You will then affix these labels to any item, and tell Masterpiece what item this scancode corresponds to. As such, the only available information for the general scancode labels is ScanCode and Edition Number.

Start with ScanCode length, and enter any desired Prefix for each label being printed. Enter the first and last ScanCode numbers you wish to print, and the first and last edition numbers if you are creating labels for Limited Edition items. E.g. if First Edition # to print is 1 and Last Edition # to print is 10, the system will print 10 labels for each ScanCode, with the edition #s 1 - 10

For Specific Labels. Fill in the Start with label and End with label fields. You can also print Specific Labels by item directly from the Item Record.

See the Modify Label Layout Help Topic for instructions on how to customize a report.
