Currently you can only copy/duplicate a Unique Item. If you have an Artist that has similar unique items and you want to easily enter the items, you can enter one item the normal way (please see Adding a Simple Piece of Inventory for detailed instructions) and then copy that item and substitute the information that is slightly different and save the new item.
For example, we have entered an Item with a Title called "Silver Ring w/ Red Inlay". This Artist makes the same ring with different colored inlays and we would like to track them by inlay color.
After you enter the item and save it you can click the "R" button near the bottom center of that unique item.
This will copy that items information into a new item screen. Notice the fields are pink because you are in edit mode of a NEW item. Also notice the ScanCode field is blank as the one we copied is a Unique piece with a Unique ScanCode, so in this new Item the ScanCode needs to be different and Unique than the original one we copied from.
We are going to use the mouse and click into the title field and change the "Red" to "Blue" as that is the only difference in these 2 example pieces.
You will need to tab through the ScanCode field so the system will generate a new Unique ScanCode for this Item.
You must also tab through all the cost and retail price fields even if you are making no changes so the system knows you checked them and will let you save the item without prompting you to check the costs etc.
Click the Save button.
Notice that in the grey box to the right of each Items Title field the Title ID number is different, so you have now 2 Items that are Unique but similar and were very easy to copy.
